Artist Statement

I work primarily with wax-based paints in processes that are intuitive rather than pre-planned.  I am interested in exploring the ideas of connectedness and optimism through color, and organic shapes and lines found in nature.  The versatile and forgiving materials I use are ideal for applying paint in layers and making my marks; working until the painting feels complete.  My aim is to offer the viewer a sense of lightness and a balance between complexity and calm.
