Artist Statement

My abstract paintings are unplanned and process-driven.  They are born from observation and memory.  Surprise and delight are baked into my process.  I am interested in creating a balance between complexity and calm. Working primarily with wax-based paints, I build layers - intuitively arranging color, shape, and line until the painting feels complete.
